Get involved
There's a place for you to serve
We're building a team — not just filling positions. Students, parents and high schoolers all have a part in making Tuesday nights great.
For students
Join the Student Serve Team
Use your gifts, serve others and grow into a leader. You can serve in more than one area, and you don't have to be good at it already — you just have to be willing to learn.
Setup & Room
Set up chairs, tables, stations, supplies and the room.
Snack Shack
Set up snacks, organize the serving area, help serve and reset.
Welcome & Check-in
Welcome students and help with the tablet check-in.
Games
Set up games and equipment, explain rules, keep score and reset.
Video Games
Set up and take down the PS4/Xbox 360, monitors and controllers.
Sound & Tech
Help set up microphones, speakers and music under adult direction.
Events & Activities
Help with decorations, stations, supplies, events and outings.
Media
Help with approved photos, video and media projects.
Worship
Sing, play an instrument, read Scripture or help lead worship.
Prayer & Ministry
Help with prayer and prepared ministry moments.
Cleanup & Reset
Clean the room and put equipment and supplies away.
How you grow
Helper
Learn the job. Serve alongside an adult, follow directions and show up.
Student Leader
Own the job. Be dependable, take initiative and help another student learn it.
Leader
Help the whole team succeed — organize your area and help other students grow.
Student leaders always serve under adult direction. Serious safety, discipline or personal concerns are handled by adults.
Ready? Talk to Alex Babko on a Tuesday night, or ask a current student leader.
For adults
Serve on Tuesday nights
City Hill Teens is in a rebuilding season. We're looking for adults who:
- Love Jesus and care about middle schoolers
- Want to be there and enjoy serving
- Are dependable — consistency, not perfection
- Work well with others and are willing to learn
You don't need to be a youth ministry expert. Leaders meet briefly on Zoom on Monday evenings to pray and get ready for Tuesday. Every adult completes City Hill's application and background check before serving.
Areas where we need help
Games
Plan and run games that get everyone involved.
Worship
Lead a song or help students lead.
Small groups
Guide discussion and pray with students.
Snack Shack & welcome
Greet families, help with check-in and snacks.
Media & communication
Photos, flyers and keeping this site up to date.
Events & trips
Help plan parties, outings, camp and G4T.
For high schoolers
High School Takeover
About once a month, a City Hill High School youth home group takes over a Tuesday night. Your group plans the message, worship, a game and small-group questions, and spends the night building relationships with the middle schoolers.
It's a chance to show younger students what it looks like to love Jesus, serve with joy and take responsibility — and to have a lot of fun doing it.
Takeover checklist
- Pick a coordinator for your group
- Prepare the message and worship songs
- Choose a game middle schoolers can join
- Prepare small-group questions
- Decide who leads closing prayer
- Tell the Teens Director your plan and equipment needs ahead of time
